r4 vs cm1 April 3, 2008

cm1 asked us to do this write up, so what the heck, we’ll do it for them this once.
I’ll cut to the chase and keep this really short.
Dustbowl
Score: 2-1 to cm1
Comments: r4 started out on attack, trying a new tactic at first which we not work out so well, afterwards fell into a rather uncoordinated mess where we just threw ourselves at cm1 hoping to get the cap. Before we could gather for a proper push, time ran out. While this was a bad showing for r4, much credit goes to cm1 for their staunch defense and keeping r4 at bay. With morale low r4 was not completely ready for cm1 and they managed to take the 2nd point of dustbowl quite comfortably.
Well
Score: 3 – 1 to cm1
Comments: This was r4’s choice of map, choosing well instead of granary. While the first half of the map (20mins) mainly consisted of a lot of pushing and shoving between the two teams, it seemed like we were win for an epic Well battle. The game saw a change of pace during the second half, with cm1 managing to push r4 back to their last cap several times and r4 pushing cm1 back to their last cap as well. Eventually the score came down to 2-1 with cm1 in the lead. However, with only 2 minutes of time in play left, r4 decided to make a desperate push which cost them dearly as cm1 was able to capitalize and take advantage of as the final score surmounted to 3-1
Gravelpit
Score: 9-9 cm1 wins on stopwatch
Comments: During this match r4 managed to shape up from their sloppy performance in the last two maps and give cm1 a hard time. Both teams managed to capture ABC for two sets but it was r4 who had the better timing during normal play. However when the game went into overtime, there was a lot of confusion in the game. Nobody was sure if it was still live, or if we were even continuing with a stopwatch round. Nevertheless we played on and r4 became rather messy again in their co-ordination, causing them to score a worst time than their previous rounds. However, not to take anything away from cm1 as they took no chances and turned up their game during stopwatch, eventually capping C faster than r4’s time.
gg’s to all. r4 will look forward to a re-match with cm1 in the league!
r4 vs invicta #3 March 27, 2008

Tonight we had our 3rd match with Invicta, as usual it was a close and exciting game with several intense and clutch moments.
This post also signifies the return of the match write-ups! Which we haven’t done in some time despite many of the scrims we’ve been having in-between our last write up and this match. Hopefully we’ll get back into the habit of recording down our matches!
On with the match comments then,
Map 1: Gravelpit (r4’s choice)
The details are a little fuzzy to me right now, but r4 started out on attack. Eventually we managed to capture A and B after several waves of attack. However, because we only managed to capture B in the dying minutes, it left us very little time for C, when invicta managed to keep the advantage and hold us off.
r4 started out the defence with our usual class line-ups consisting of a heavy, 2 soldiers, demoman, engineer and medic. Roles were switched up a little as we were missing our resident heavy, Linkstatic. LoneReaction took over as our heavy, leaving Fieryspirit to be the engineer.
Focusing our defence on B, r4 only managed to hold off invicta a few times before they got the better of us and captured it with ample time left for C. Unfortunately, invicta managed to somewhat breeze through and cap the last point.
When the second set started, r4 knew they had to at least get 3 caps in to have a decent shot at winning or drawing the game. A quick revision in strategy and they were off. The results were somewhat better than the first set, with a few situations at B where the defenders were down but not enough members of r4 to capitalise on the advantage and hold the point. Fortunately, it paid off in the end and we managed to get A and B in a much better time than the first set, and after a hard fought battle with wave after wave of attack, we managed to capture C. Props to our player of the week, Demoyan for sticky jumping up there first!
With invicta’s turn to attack, r4 decided to make their final stand at B after a futile attempt to stall for time with A. This defence saw us switching up the heavy for a pyro, which proved to be a relatively good move. Mainly because while invicta could break our defence enough to get into the house, they suffered from the same problem as us in the first set, they did not have enough members to capitalize on the advantage, resulting in r4 being able to spawn and reach the B house first, delaying their capture and securing the area again. It was very messy as this constantly repeated itself, causing the r4 players to make a mad dash from their spawn to the B house to stop the continous wave of invicta members throwing themselves at the cap.
After a lot of intense moments, invicta managed to cap B and because r4 was trying their best to save B, they were not fully entrenched in C. This resulted in a scout from invicta quickly getting onto to C and almost capping it before the point was saved. No rest for r4 though, for as soon as the scout was taken care of invicta members came pouring through the B side of C and managed to get up on the point. Hilarious moments as both teams struggled for control of the top point, with invicta having 2 members on the cap, closing in to win the game when fieryspirit’s pyro got up in the nick of time to burn them down. Unfortunately, shortly after another invicta member went up to finish the job while most of r4 were still dead.
Final score: 6-5 to invicta
(Wow that was pretty wordy. Would somebody else do the Well writeup?)
Edited by Mou5e. Due to malice post being too wordy, i shall be nice and just give the juice of cp_well.
Well, chosen by Inv.
VERY intensive as well. We had Aww. Dennis to sub for us as a medic. Round of applause to him. =D
r4 manage to get an early lead to a 3 – 0. But Inv. then increase the ref of their engines and rolled us bad to our last 2 points. which we defended to and fro for quite some time. At a certain point in time, leaving a scout and a medic on the last point. Both of them about to die, tried to went back to get health and tada, point capture by Inv. Boo to Lone and LONE only. =X
3 – 1 r4
After some more pushing and internal motivations, and a superb pryo and scout combo from fiery and lone. we mange to take the neutral point. With dennis being a awesome medic, with accurate timing for ubers, we mange to cap the last point making the win.
Final Score for well: 4 – 1 to r4
Great game Invicta.
See u soon for the next game.
King crown for this week Most Valuable Player, [r4] Yanhao. The slave shall be [r4] (Choice of the king, pls insert in). (Pls bully him. =D ) <– No farking idea where this came about from. =X
