Clan r4: Rockets 4 Supper

Soo it was after a pug on Wednesday night, 30th January that we went crazy. Class crazy.

We all chose duplicates of a variety of classes and laughed ourselves silly watching mutiple people running around on screen.

I didn’t manage to capture this, but after we went out, a whole bunch of medics got blown up. xD

GravelPit 3 – 2 to Aww. On first set.
Aww manages to cap ABC on second set. Win goes to Aww.

Things of note:
[r4] had 5 players, PortalCake, our medic, disconnected and hanged there. Fortunately, Aww allowed us to have 2 medics in play, and offered to pause the game. We didn’t mind so we continued play, Aww.gAry was kind enough to volunteer and sit out to even the numbers. Thanks again guys! Very sporting.

Dustbowl 6 – 6 Draw
Both sides with equally as strong teams, with the 2 snipers Puzzled and Pauly constantly taking it out on each other (and other members as well), most of us tend to be dead due to HS. lol.

I played for aww VS 5th company awhile ago, as medic, because they lacked 1 person. Never played in 2fort scrim before, so alot of experience gained.

Our (aww) lineup consisted of Scout, Demo, 2 Soldiers, Engineer, Medic.
I can’t remember what our opponent (5th company) had, but it should be similar, except that they had a sniper.

Most of the time, the tactic was to camp/stall them while the scout makes a mad dash for the intel. Defending ones intel was also very important, and the the engineer would build sentry there.

Ok ok, I’m typing obvious things, but that’s what I noticed. Pub 2fort was more about killing people then getting flags =X

After a long awaited time, we finally manage to get all the players and played the first r4 & invicta (previously known as Fools on Stools) for our virgin scrim. Played a total of 3 maps without critical.

cp_gravelpit: 6 – 4 to invicta.

This was r4’s pick.

R4 started the map attacking. R4 took A with no problems and managed to cash the cheque and cap B and C neatly. No problems encountered until it was our turn to attack again. invicta managed to HOLD point B against us with some clever sniping and a Heavy+Medic combo. A crowd favourite.

R4 put up some spectacular fighting on this map, including alot of good spawn camps by our Demo and Sollys. In the end it was just that single B defense that brought us down from an even scoring.

cp_well: 4 – 2 to invicta.

invicta wanted to pick ctf_well, but after everyone did some dry run and fun playing session, it was realize that it was rather big for a 6 man team. It was then change to cp_well. Started off with r4 pushing really hard and manage to hold neutral point for quite some time, invicta break lose and push us back to our 2nd cp and once they cap it, they already had someone at the last point. Which bought r4 down.

After losing 2 points to them, r4 manage to pull up 1 point, when Ma|ice change to scout and LinkStatic taking over as soldier. Close battles in between and invicta had an edge over us and finally won the map at 4 – 2.

cp_dustbowl: 6 – 4 to invicta.

r4 started with attacking. With LinkStatic as spy, whom he ninja-ed the 2nd point, after a long time getting the 1st point, invicta’s heavy was a scary killing machine that didn’t seem to die no matter how many rockets he had for supper (pun ?). Manage to capture 4 cp and r4 encountered strong defense from invicta. With the Heavy constantly going into Blue base and Demoman’s stickies being at the correct place, r4 was not able to stand on the cp. Not forgetting the Sentry Gun which killed us. The time ended with r4 only managing to capture 4 points.

invicta’s attacking turn. r4’s heavy was taken down at the very start by an invicta’s spy. and with strong attacking power by them, r4 defense went down and both captures points were taken by them at lightning speed. r4 manage to give invicta a slightly harder time on the 3rd and 4th point, but they manage to pull through and capture both. Also at this point, puzzled join red team to help r4 as LinkStatic had to leave. With awesome sniping skills, he took down 2 persons right at the very start. The 5th and final point, with invicta’s ubered, they manage to take out most of r4 and proceeded to a cap and victory.

It was a good game with invicta. And after finishing dustbowl, we (both clans) proceeded in photo taking and a pyramid building session. It was damn noisy with all the taunting. And when all photos are taken, it was pure attacking and close combat. LOL !

invicta won: 3 – 0

Conclusion, r4 had a fun and good game. And i believe invicta had their share of fun too. =D Learned a lot and we look forward with playing with you guys again. =D
